Day 01: Negombo
You will be met at the airport and escorted to your
hotel in Negombo so you can relax after your long journey. Negombo is a
busy fishing town located in close proximity to the airport. Its sandy
beaches and huge lagoon tempted the Portuguese & Dutch to use it as a
fishing port during colonization. There is a 120 km long Dutch canal
and lots of churches in the town. A legacy left by the Portuguese during
the colonial occupation. The Muthurajawela marshlands nearby has a
large number of bird species that remain an attraction to eco-lovers. If
you are up and about in the early hours of the morning you will be able
to observe the fishing boats arriving ashore. The economy of Negombo is
mainly based on tourism and the fishing industry.Your first day in
Negombo will be a perfect start as you look forward to your
journey through the Island in the coming days.
Day 2 - Dambulla- Minneriya National Park
Dambulla Rock Cave Temple is the vast isolated rock mass where king Valagambhahu took refuge in the 01 st century B.C. He later turned the caves into a rock temple. The temple consists of a series of 5 caves containing many statues and painting including a 47 ft. long statue of the Buddha.
Evening Visit Minneriya National park .It is the largest known meeting place of Asian Elephants in the world. During this period herds up to 300 elephants are seen at the 8,890 hectare park within a few square kilometers of the Minneriya Reservoir. In August and September each year during the dry season, wild elephants from the surrounding wilderness in search of food and water, makes their way to the shores of the Minneriya Reservoir adjoining the Minneriya National Park. Huge herd of elephants, sometimes numbering up to 300, converge together within a few square kilometers of the lake.
Day 3 -Sigiriya - Polonnaruwa
Sigiriya Rock Fortress was built in the 5th century A.D and is claimed to be the 8th wonder in the world). See the water garden, bolder garden, paintings of the world famous “cloud girls”, mirror wall, lion’s paws and the swimming pool on the top.
Evening we will reach to Polonnaruwa. Polonnaruwa is an ancient city dating back to the 10th-12th century A.D). You will be visiting the modern museum, the Parakrama Samudra (a gigantic reservoir made by king Parakrama the Great), the Palace of king Parakrama, the Kumara Pokuna (pond used by royal family with the water flowing system), the Shiva temple, the Thuparama Shrine room and the glittering statues, the Lotus Pond and a traditional wood carving factory.
Day 4 - Kandy
Explore The city of the sacred tooth relic
Early morning start your journey to Kandy, the ancient capital of Sri Lanka. On the way you will be visiting the famous Elephant Orphanage in Pinawella, a tea factory and a traditional spice garden.
At Kandy you will be staying at hotels or guesthouses.After you’ve refreshed you will be embark on a Kandy sightseeing tour which includes the Temple of the Tooth, the Kandy Lake and a show of traditional Kandy Dancing.
Day 5 - Kandy - Peradeniya
Enjoy a scenic train to this hilside hamlet.
Early morning reach to Peradeniya Botanical garden.The best know attraction of the garden is the orchid House, which houses more than 300 varieties of exquisite orchids. A spice garden gives you a firsthand introduction to the trees and plants used for the traditional Ayurvedic medicine. Mahaweli River, Sri Lanka s longest river surrounding this garden gives an added beauty to this garden. It won t be wrong to say that this garden is one of its best kind in the world and the best in Asia.
Evening visit Lankarama Temple and Sembuwaththa Garden.
Day 6 - Kandy - Mahiyanganaya - Delhouse ( Nallathanniya)
After the Breakfast we will reach to Mahiyanganaya for visti Mahiyanganaya Temple.
Evening reach to Delhouse ( Nallatahnniya ) for climb Adams peak ( Sri pada) at Night. Scale the dizzying heights of this 2,240m sacred mountain the island’s fourth highest peak in the early hours of the morning to witness not only a spectacular sunrise but also a glimpse of a mysterious triangular shadow cast by the peak against the light of the rising sun. In the company of pilgrims of four religions who each claim that the mountain’s sacred footprint or Sri Pada was created by one of their own faith, you will experience the peaceful prosperity that this dazzling spectacle brings.
Day 7- Nuwara Eliya
After you getdown Adams Peak we reach to Nuwara ELiya.
Nuwara Eliya is located at the heart of the hill country 6182 feet above from the sea level. It is still very much like an old English town with styled Bungalows and buildings. The cool calm climate, gorges rolling tea plantation which makes the best “Ceylon tea” and the breathtaking beautiful waterfalls makes Nuwara Eliya one of the most beautiful town in the world. Nuwara Eliya also has one of the finest 18 hole golf courses in South Asia.
Evening visit Haggala Botanical garden and Seetha Temple ( Rawana Story).
Day 8- Horton Plains - Nuwar Eliya
After breakfast you will reach to Horton Plains.
Horton’s Plains, the only National Park situated in Sri Lanka’s Hill Country.The large sambar population, along with the purple-faced langurs, wild boar and barking deer support a small number of leopards ore not the only attractions to be seen.
Day 9- Nuwara Eliya - Ella Train Tour
After breakfast we leaving for the Nanu Oya rail station, we wil take the train to Ella, Ella is a beautiful small sleepy town on the southern edge of Sri Lanka’s Hill Country. We get down Bandarawela and visit Adsham Bangalow . Then reach to Ella.
It’s situated in the middle of beautiful countryside, with small vegetable plots in the valleys, tea plantations on the hill slopes and forests on the tops. You can enjoy the picturesque scenery in the hill country. We stay overnight in Ella.
Day10- Liptan's Seat - Dabatane Tea factory and Lipton's Seat
Morning visit Lipton's seat and Dabatane Tea factory you can study how we made Ceylon Tea. The point of Lipton's Seat is reached by climbing for around 7km surrounded by peaceful green tea plantations and an occasional colorful tea plucker. There are two routes available one from the Nayabedda estate in Bandarawela, and the second through the Dambatenna estate in Haputale. Both routes have entrances marked with sign boards and narrow paved roads. Some parts of the road even have some of the original stone constructions from the British era of Ceylon, and hence are worth seeing from a historical point of view. The climb takes about two and a half hours on average, after a visitor reaches the hill top.
It may be a long journey, but it helps the travellers interact with nature in a different way. Little Adam’s Peak is visited mainly because of the great hiking experience it gives to its climbers. It never falls short of beauty. It is filled with greenery and beautiful trees and plants. Resorts and hotels have been built to serve the climbers that may be tired after the long walk. The walk may be long, but once one reaches the top, it is just worth the struggle. The path is straight making the walk less complicated.
Day 11- Arugam-Bay
Early Morning reach to Arugambay on the way visit Muhudu Maha Vihara Temple
Muhudu Maha Vihara is a Buddhist temple situated at Pottuvil in Ampara District, Eastern province of Sri Lanka. This temple which is situated near a wide beach, has been built over 2000 years ago by King Kavan Tissa of Ruhuna. Currently the ruins and remains of ancient stupas, Seema Malaka, Avasa Geya and statues can be seen at the site. Important ruins at the temple premises include stone statues of lord Buddha and two statues of old kings or gods.
Evening visit Kumana National Park.
Kumana National Park in Sri Lanka is renowned for its avifauna, particularly its large flocks of migratory waterfowl and wading birds. The park is 391 kilometres (243 mi) southeast of Colombo on Sri Lanka's southeastern coast.Kumana is contiguous with Yala National Park.
Day 12- Yala
Morning reach to Tissa maharamaya and visit Kirinada Temple .
Evening visit Yala National Park.
Yala National Park most visited and second-largest national park. Keep your eyes peeled for herds of roaming elephants, prowling leopards, and flocks of exotic birds. The variety of ecosystems provides an ever-changing landscape for you to admire.
In our safari drive, keep your eyes peeled for the 2 native species of crocodiles that breed here. It’s hard to miss the wandering elephants and with the highest concentration of leopards anywhere in the world your chances of spotting an elusive big cat are good. Don’t ignore the skies; 215 species of birds inhabit the region and nest in a variety of plants in this colorful environment.
Day 13 - Galle
Morning visit Kataragama temple and reach to Galle.
on the way we can visit Blow hall and Dondra Light house and then reach to Mirissa.
Travel through the southern coastal belt. The road
meanders through beautiful palm fringed beachside properties. Take in
the cool sea breeze as you pass through these coastal towns. There are
all sorts of accommodation that have sprung up on the seaside. Here you
will find luxury resorts, boutique hotels, cabanas and villas. a hub of
activity with tourists walking along the little towns and beaches. Whale
watching is very popular in the town of Mirissa.
Day 14- Bentota
Morning visit Galle Dutch Fort. Galle Fort explores this magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is a spellbinding mixture of Dutch, Portuguese and British history. Its oozes colonial charm with an eclectic range of low rise European architecture, tucked down a lace of narrow lanes and alleyways. The tour is part driven and part walking and covers the important highlights within the fort.
Then move to Bentota for Madugaga Boat safari . The Madu River Safari is popular activity that has to be on the ‘to do’ list of any respectable Sri Lankan holiday goer. This unforgettable activity last for over two hours and gives a visitor a chance to travel the secretive passages through the mangrove forests and see the ecology.
With most of the area being soggy wetlands, the solid landmass of the region mainly consists of islands. History states there used to be 64 islands along Madu River. However most seem to have sunk under the water, as only 25 islands are reported today. Of these islands only 15 have a sizable landmass. An interesting thing to be visited of the area is the Open-Air Fish Massage. The fish massage is quite popular around the world, especially in East Asian countries. The unique factor about this massage is that the fish are held in their natural environment, the river. A large space is sectioned off by nets tied between poles; restricting the fish from leaving that area. Other than that, they are free to move around. The client simply sits on a pier and dips his or her feet into the water.
After move to Kosgoda for visit Turtle Farm.
Day 15- Bentota - Colombo
Morning relax on Beach and evening move to Colombo.
Back to Airport or Colombo.
According to your flight schedule we drop you to the airport or a hotel at colombo.
